The Moderator-Elect of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye has stated that top on his list of priorities is missions and youth development.
He revealed this during an interview with Rev. Dr. Joseph Kofi Antwi on PCG TV on Friday, 18th August, 2023.

Speaking of his vision, Rev. Dr. Kwakye was quick to mention that he believes in the collective vision of the church and how far God has led the church during the tenure of Rt. Rev. Prof. J.O.Y. Mante.
On missions, he explained the need to continue the church’s extension work undertaken in North America/Australia Presbytery and Europe as well as other ripe mission fields in some African countries and Asia. Citing his background in missions, he expounded the extent of growth that this would bring to the church.
“This mission will not only bring numerical growth but growth in all aspects of our church’s life.”

Addressing the issue of youth development, the Moderator-Elect called for a bold, intentional shift towards a change in our worship life to make the church more attractive to the youth.
The Moderator further touched on the Kuntunse Project and stated that there’s a mandate for the church to complete the Kuntunse Project by 2028.
“One of the first things I’ll do is to visit Kuntunse and conceptualize the project,” the Moderator said.
He also showed his commitment to PCG TV, stating that his work as leader of the technical committee and his membership of the Board makes it right to improve the platform.
“We will make PCG TV a first-class Gospel TV.”

Rev. Dr. Kwakye called for a scientific approach rather than an emotional, sentimental approach to the review of the Financial Contribution System since the system has been beneficial to the church in many ways.
“50-50 has become a changemaker for our church. For the first time, we have been able to pay all our agents nationally at the end of every month,” he emphasized.
Finally, He called for prayers from all Presbyterians. “Every morning when you go on your knees, pray that the Lord will keep me strong for the work,” he said.
Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye who was the Chairperson of the Ga Presbytery was elected the 19th Moderator of the PCG during the 23rd General Assembly on 17th August, 2023.
